Rachael Horan

Consultant counsellor

Working with people to enact change is my passion.

Rachael has joined the Cornerstone team, combining working for us with her own private clients, and also Wellington Community Counselling.

Furthermore, Rachael also works as a primary school counsellor in Somerset and has experience with children both within a school environment and outside of, often using creative tools during the sessions. These tools can be sand trays, crafts and board games to name a few. Sometimes though, simply the use of language and offering a safe space is more than enough for a child or young person to really open up and engage in the process.

As well as working with children and young people, Rachael also offers sessions for adults, covering areas such as:
Anger Management
Behaviour Difficulties
Bipolar Disorder
Domestic Violence
Eating Disorders/ Concerns
Family Issues
Gender Identity
Grief and Loss/ Bereavement
Health Concerns
Learning Difficulties
Low Confidence
Low Self-Esteem
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Panic Attacks
Post Natal Depression
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Relationship Difficulties
Self- Harm
Social Anxiety
Suicidal Thoughts
It is Rachael’s strong belief that no child, young person or adult should be ashamed of their ill mental health and that it should be considered as important as physical health. Together whilst building a strong therapeutic relationship, you can thrive and move forward, receiving the empathy and understanding that you deserve.
Rachael mainly works from the Cornerstone therapy rooms on a Tuesday and a Friday, but is also available at other times during the week.
Rachael can be contacted via email.
